WarHarp, The Punishing Harp of the Punisher

This is got to be the best project I have ever done! The reason I’ve been portraying Frank as a harpist is because I’m doing this out of great affinity for the harp. Especially the concert harp which I drew The Punisher playing in some of my fan art. I also drew him playing this harp which resembles more or less an archer’s bow similar to what Hawkeye uses in battle.

WarHarp, The Punishing Harp of the Punisher

This, what Frank is playing above, is WarHarp, The Punishing Harp of The Punisher – a black 4ft long elaborate bow with 7 (or 8) strings that shoots punishing arrows that kill hardened criminals and play music. It is made from solid, unbreakable adamantium, the same type of alloy Wolverine’s claws are made of except that Logan’s claws are made from a common type of adamantium while Frank’s harp is made out of an extremely rare type of adamantium that renders it completely indestructible. Not even the Hulk, Magneto, Kingpin, Thor, or any other super powered person can destroy it.
Rumor has it the strings on Frank’s harp are made from the tendons of criminals Frank killed in the past. But that’s debunked when it is revealed that the strings are made from the same rare adamantium alloy the bow harp is made from. The rumor, however, still persist in many places. Possible origin of this rumor comes from the fact that there are bloodstains frequently seen on Frank’s harp, especially on the strings Frank tickles and shoots arrows from. One has to wonder if this is the result of Frank excessive harp playing where he plays until his fingers bleed (perhaps) or is it the result of Frank’s fists brutally beating thugs to a lifeless pulp before taking up the harp and gracefully move his bloodstain hands across the strings while singing out a swan song to the criminal dead and dying (likely) …or is it both?
Even the punishing arrows which Frank shoots are made from adamantium, making the arrows incredibly strong, sharp, and powerful enough to easily sail through bulletproof vests, glass, wood, steel, even concrete. Normally he uses common ordinary arrows he buys at a sporting store to shoot down enemy targets, saving the adamantium ones for the worst of foes. When Frank shoots an arrow at any criminal target, the harp makes a lingering “ching” sound. Both the back of the handheld area and the front of the base is adorned with the same skull emblem Frank wears on his black shirt. The teeth of the emblem located on the handheld area is where Frank holds one hand on while the other hand shoots punishing arrows that kills the criminal target. Then he strums and sings a melody that sets a criminal’s soul off on an unpleasant journey to Hell.
Archery is a great addition to many of the world class combat skills The Punisher has. When he practice his arrow shooting, Frank uses a punching bag or an unfortunate “pin cushion” (a lowlife scum hanging by the neck) as target practice. The sound Frank’s harp makes is not at all like what you hear from a large concert harp in an orchestra. Frank’s harp is said to sound like pretty little bells that echo clearly throughout a large concert hall. To Frank, however, the harp’s beautiful sounds uncannily matches that of the voices of Maria, Lisa, and Frank Jr every time he plucks the 7 strings. He can feel his family’s presence every time he plays the harp and hear their voices throbbing from this special musical weapon especially when he shoots arrows from them. Which is how he fell in love with this special bow harp the day he first saw it as he was destroying an organized death cult ring not too long ago.
