This is Doc Shaner’s awesome artwork design of The Punisher who may or may not be the same as The Punisher incarnation from Earth 1602 who appeared in a one-shot storyline called A Man Named Frank where Frank goes after and kills a group of outlaws responsible for the deaths of his family.
The sight of various forms of Frank, including the main version, appearing in BattleWorld other than in FrankenCastle form is making me feel a whole lot better about Marvel’s upcoming Secret Wars storyline and the fate of Marvel’s deadliest vigilante is shown to be in our favor. In a Twitter conversation exclusive, Mitch Gerads, an illustrator who does incredible Punisher artwork for Marvel Comics, let @punisherhq on a little revelation:
@punisherhq Haha, I think we’re confused. I’m saying I’m staying on Punisher longer than issue 19 .

Mitch is staying on Punisher beyond issue 19 to create more fantastic Punisher art and comics. Now that’s music to my ears! More Punisher. More comics about Frank. The more I find news like this, the much better I feel about Marvel Comics and SecretWars. The so-called Last Days of The Punisher tie-in will not be Frank’s Last Days at all. So therefore, it can only mean one thing– Punisher will LIVE! 😀
