It’s easy for us to get carry away when news suddenly comes out about our favorite comic book characters getting killed off like in The Death of Archie and The Death of Wolverine from last year. When it happens we tend to get carried away only to realize that this has happened before; our favorite characters being killed off only to end up being brought back to life, never to really be dead and gone for long. Superman, Captain America, Wolverine, even Punisher experience those unpleasant circumstances only to end up being brought back to life to fight villainy once again. These circumstances have been made up as gimmicks to increase comic book sales. To get people to buy the comics so they can find out what’s going to happen to their favorite characters. I guess this is what Marvel Comics had in mind when they brought up the major remake version of the 1985 Secret Wars storyline. They’ve been planning on doing this storyline for a long time, waiting for the right moment to write and draw such stories and then publish them in May and in June. It’ll be a 5 month long storyline event from May to September. Then everything gets back to normal for all the Marvel Characters, except it will be a new normal for them as they try to adjust to their new lives living in BattleWorld. Now if only they change Thor back into a man in future issues of Thor afterwords…
