Just came out in The Punisher news. Rumors has just started to go around that there’s going to be another Marvel Hero that will be making his appearance in Netflix’s The Punisher.
So earlier today, I was at my country’s annual Asia Pop Comic-Con where they held a Marvel presentation titled Hall M – more on that here. In that presentation, they featured footage from upcoming MCU properties such as Inhumans and Thor: Ragnarok. During the Punisher segment of the presentation, our distinguished host C.B. Cebulski who happens to be Senior Vice President of Creator and Content Development at Marvel) dropped an interesting tidbit about Frank’s debut show. While praising Jeph Loeb‘s oversight over Marvel TV’s success with the Netflix shows, C.B. stated offhandedly in verbatim that “another Marvel hero may be showing up [in the Punisher],” a comment that a handful of the audience gasped at.
Everyone loves a good rumor like that. Leaving us to speculate who will be appearing in the show alongside Frank. The one who’s being speculated by fans the most is Marc Spector (aka Moon Knight). Marvel’s answer to Batman with a touch of The Joker. Now this is a soldier who served in the US military and worked for the CIA for many years. But then he became a mercenary and headed to Africa where he does some dirty work for pay. He then suffered a huge attack by an enemy and was left for dead in the Sahara Desert. Marc regains conscience and finds himself crawling in the desert to find help only to encounter an ancient Egyptian temple in honor of the moon god Khonsu, who granted him the power to become Moon Knight, a crime fighting vigilante with powers deriving from the moon.
Marc teamed up with Frank in many comics. Both are respectful soldiers who took different paths to become who they are. Perhaps Marc would like to hear some harp music being played by Frank if he doesn’t mind listening to soothing harp music that’ll help him ease his troubled mind, which is being possessed by Khonshu, leading Marc to harbor many different personalities to help cope with this supernatural torment.
Here’s another guess I’m making is to who will appear in the upcoming Punisher show. Good ol’ Matt Murdock who encountered The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2 and got his world shaken to the core by him.
Perhaps there will be a few scene flashbacks from Daredevil Season 2 where Frank gives out his beautiful touching speech at the cemetery in front of Matt. Will we also see the epic prison fight scene or the courtroom scene where Frank loses it in front of everyone and then was brought back into the courtroom in the most epic way?
I think I’ll go along with everybody else and say that Marc will be the one appearing in Punisher. Otherwise who knows who will be appearing in The Punisher? The only way for us to find out whether we see Matt or Marc (most likely) in the show is to watch The Punisher on Netflix this coming November.
