Punisher Max: The Slavers is one of the greatest Punisher stories of all time. And the most brutal. In this story written by the Master Punisher Writer Garth Ennis, Frank ends up dealing with a horrible prostitution ring operated by The Slavers. Three merciless individuals made up of Tiberiu Bulat, his son Cristu and his girlfriend Vera Konstantin who run the prostitution ring like a sex slave ring it is. Many helpless young women coming from impoverished neighborhoods ended up getting kidnapped, raped and forced into prostitution if they ever want to see themselves alive. If they resist, they’ll end up getting killed themselves. If they had babies, the Slavers will kill them, too, so that the female sex slaves will stay in line.
Viorica was one of the victims who ended up losing her baby to The Slavers when she tried to escape from the ring. She escaped anyway but was attacked by a group of thugs who would’ve molested her to death if it weren’t for the timely intervention of The Punisher who killed all the men and rescued Viorica.
Viorica was taken to Punisher’s secret hideaway where she was cared for by Frank who gave her breakfast and listened as she told him absolutely everything.
And that’s when Frank’s rainstorm of death begins. With the help of a Case Worker, Frank hunts and guns down multitudes of mercenaries who worked for the Slavers. Then he got all the information he needs to take out the horrible leaders starting with Cristu. Frank used his intestines as a Christmas Tree decoration in order to get him to talk.
Then it’s Vera’s turn to face Frank’s wrath. Vera was the one who came up with the idea of setting up this horrible prostitution ring where she imposed the “rape them to break them” procedure that forces the victims into becoming sex slaves for The Slavers. Frank tossed her around like a rag doll before he threw her out the window of a very tall building and sent her falling down hundreds of feet to her death.
And last but not least Tiberiu. The Old Man who’s so ruthless and cruel that he takes sick delight in seeing all of his victims suffer and die. His reign of terror came to an end when Frank found him molesting a woman and struck him down, freeing her from his grasp. Then he tied the Old Man up, dump gasoline all over him, and in front of a camera set up to send a serious message to the other rings working with the Old Man, sends
Frank, looking back at all this, understood that everything he did will never take away the scars, the trauma, and the nightmares that will haunt all of the victims for the rest of their lives. Not to mention the things he did to destroy the ring seems to be in vain. For there will be lots more prostitution rings that will spring up to take the place of the fallen Slavers. When that happens, Frank will have to come again and take them out the same way he took out the Slavers.
And so Frank’s war against Organized Crime continues.
