Last night’s The Defenders Panel from #SDCC along with Stan Lee’s teaser confirms that Jon Bernthal (as The Punisher) will appear in The Defenders show helping Jessie, Luke, Matt, and Danny defeat The Hand.

The SDCC footage opened with Iron Fist and Jessica Jones trying to save an injured Punisher from the Hand.
The Hand is a mysterious group of ninjas that inhabit the subterranean areas of Hell’s Kitchen. They have supernatural powers and are known to bring people, like Elektra, back from the dead. Matt and Punisher both battled the Hand at the climax of Daredevil Season 2 with Frank ending up saving Matt from the Hand.
Looks like Danny and Jessie tries to return the favor and help Punisher fight off The Hand. But ultimately The Punisher will arise to save The Defenders and help them defeat the Hand the same way he helped The Defenders save NY and Hell’s Kitchen from The Hand in The ShadowLand comic book story line which I think The Defenders series is based on.
Then Punisher will leave Hell’s Kitchen to play guitar, which I’ll share my thoughts about in the next post, and strangle a demented crook by the name of Rawlins!
