On Saturday morning, I got up, fired up the PC and internet, and headed to Twitter where I saw Jessica Jones appearing on the Twitter trend section. So I clicked on the link and see what’s going on and that’s how I discovered that Luke Cage, the Marvel/Netflix show is officially canceled. One week after they officially canceled Iron Fist due to low ratings. I was stunned. Luke Cage canceled after a great 2nd Season? You got to be kidding! No, they’re not. They are canceling Luke Cage. They’re not going to do a 3rd Season of the show at all.
First, last Saturday they canceled Iron Fist due to low to mediocre ratings. Then a week later they end up canceling Luke Cage due to disagreements among the producers on how the show is to be made. Does this mean they will also cancel Jessica Jones even though the 3rd Season of the show is still in production? That’s what a lot of fans are afraid of. And no plans for Season 2 of The Defenders, either, which is a total bummer.
Luke Cage and Iron Fist shows have been canceled. But that doesn’t necessarily mean they are done with the 2 Marvel Heroes completely.
According to a lot of fan speculation, the 2 heroes will appear in a new Marvel show called “Heroes for Hire” where Danny and Luke will team up to take on villains throughout New York City. That would be a sigh of relief for the fans of the two heroes if they officially announce the new Marvel show and have it appear in the new Disney online streaming service that will appear sometime next year.
If Jessica Jones is going to be next on the chopping block, then what about Daredevil and The Punisher? Are they going to be canceled, too? Here’s my answer: “Not a snowball’s chance in Hades!!”
These two shows are both pure solid gold! Both are a masterpiece! Their reviews are at an all-time high. Heck! They blow all the TV ratings for them sky high. Both are award-winning and critically acclaimed. Jeph Loeb and Marvel Studios could’ve never chosen better actors for the two shows. Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Vincent D’ Onofrio as The Kingpin, and Deborah Ann Woll as Frank’s girlfriend Karen Page who is now a part of [Warning: Spoilers from Daredevil Season 3] Nelson, Murdock, and Page: Attorneys at Law.
Daredevil Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix. Marvel’s The Punisher Season 2 is said to make its debut on Netflix sometime early next year. I want them both to be the shows that are right up there with I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore, The Honeymooners, The Simpsons, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, All in the Family, Happy Days, Star Trek: TOS, Batman ’66, The Andy Griffith Show, Family Guy, Mission Impossible, Dragnet, The Flintstones, and all other Emmy Award Winning TV shows past and present.
Jeph Loeb can do whatever he wants with all of the Marvel TV shows out there as long as he does to us a huge favor:
Don’t cancel Marvel’s The Punisher! Don’t cancel Daredevil! Don’t ever cancel those 2 golden shows whatever you do!
