On July 4th, the day the US celebrates its independence, and Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle will walk down the aisle and tie the knot, Cosmic Ghost Riding Punisher will make his solo Marvel debut in a brand new comic run put together by the team of Geoff Shaw, Dylan Bernett, and Donny Cates who co-created this unusual character mash-up made up of The Punisher and Johnny Blaze with a touch of that stinkin’ Deadpool.
In this alternative universe, Punisher became the cosmic version of Ghost Rider when he died and went to Hell where Mephisto, the ruler of the fiery underworld, granted him the ability to become Ghost Rider so he can continue to punish criminals for all eternity.
This unusual version of Frank Castle made his debut in Thanos #13 a few months back as a lapdog for an older version of Thanos in an alternate Marvel Universe and build up a really good fan base as a result. That lead Marvel to create his own solo series which will be 5 issues long and full of cosmic style craziness as Frank travels throughout space to dish out to criminals one form of punishment after another.
I still have doubts about making a harp art featuring the Cosmic Ghost Riding Punisher. I prefer to make a Ghost Riding Punisher Harp art the way I see fit. But not now. Pretty soon, I’ll be making for the first time ever a Billy Russo harp art where I’ll have the Ben Barnes’ version of Billy (aka Jigsaw) play the harp just as I did with David and Pete.
Sherry Konkus lives in Owosso, MI. She is the proud owner of the Camac Athena EX Concert Grand Harp named “Grover” and Camac Mademoiselle named “Ernie.” She’s also the proud author of The Punisher Harp Zone. Sherry is the one who came up with the idea of portraying The Punisher from Marvel Comics as the punishing harpist who plays the harp in memory of his family who was killed by the mob years ago.
